What makes it Green?

Certified Organic to Food Grade Standards by the USDA, the ACO and the BFA; contains no synthetic chemicals; contains no GMOs, synthetic or immunotoxic ingredients and no suspected or known carcinogens or allergens; not tested on animals.

Miessence also offsets its carbon emissions, taking into account those related to the production and transportation of their products.  As a part of Miessence’s Green Fleet program, carbon emissions are calculated quarterly and sufficient native trees are planted to offset travel-related carbon emissions.

Pros:

  • Great Moisturizer-Light formulation that leaves skin extremely soft and visibly hydrated without any greasy residue.
  • A little goes a long way-it might come in a small bottle but not a lot is needed and lasts throughout the day without need for reapplication.
  • Safe enough to eat-Certified Organic to Food Grade Standards with all natural ingredients means this product is in fact good enough to eat!  Betcha can’t say that about Jergens!
  • Cold Formulation-Miessence states that it uses chemical-free cold formulations as opposed to heat emulsification processes which may structurally alter ingredients.  Their methods are “proprietary”, however, so this process is not publicly known.
  • 100% Beneficial Active Ingredients- Claims to contain no ‘fillers’ or unnecessary ingredients.

Cons:

  • Unusual smell-because synthetic fragrances are not used it doesn’t smell like typical perfumed moisturizers.  A very light fragrance, but unusual nonetheless.
  • Expensive-$31 for 3.4 ounces may not be a lot in comparison to some product lines but it’s also not the cheapest out there.
