Company Description:
Bizcard is an online print marketing company. Our goal is to help SMB create high quality business cards, postcards, direct mails campaigns and other print products and services.
Since its inception, the Bizcard team has been working on developing environmentally friendly printing solutions. This effort includes using primarily post-consumer paper, eliminating damaging photo chemicals from the printing process and purchasing materials from Green Seal certified companies etc…
Bizcard is dedicated to environmental stewardship and is currently developing an environmental strategy to guide future efforts.
Sustainable Business Practices:
Green Printing:
- Prints with Xpedx Green Seal certified paper, recycled paper and paper sourced from responsibly managed forest lands.
- Uses digital presses for all of its printing, which eliminate the photochemical-dependent process of making plates, thus reducing the chemical usage in the process
- Utilization of ink that is free of alcohol, toxins and other volatile organic Compounds (VOCs).
- Recycles excess or waste materials, such as paper, inks and solvents
Resource Efficiency:
- Uses energy-efficient computers and equipment.
- Adheres to an after-hours power-down policy to reduce energy consumption and carbon footprint despite manufacturer recommendations to leave running in order to avoid increased maintenance costs.
- Effectively uses resources (paper, ink, supplies) to reduce waste generation.
- Uses paperless communication procedures.
Community:
- For every order, Bizcard sponsors the planting of one tree in multiple Global Releaf ecosystem restoration projects across the United States and around the world. This results in 100 trees planted for every 1 tree used.
- Sincere and active attempts to educate clients on the merits of green printing.
- Encourages consumers to purchase products that use 30-40% less paper than the industry standard.
Employee Engagement:
- Engages employees in environmental program development and offers a feedback mechanism to ensure employees are able to participate and guide environmental initiatives.
- Established an Employee Brand Program to increase employee involvement.
- Documents and internally communicates environmental programs to employees.
Green Building:
- Reduced electric bill by 40% by using special film on west facing windows.
- Installed multiple layers of reflective roofing to stabilize indoor temperatures.
- All standard lighting with normal transformers have been replaced with Fluorescent Electronic bulbs.
- Bathroom sinks are automated to reduce water consumption.
- Installed a bike rack and encourages employees to use alternative transportation to work.
Partnerships:
“Bizcard seeks out partnerships with nonprofit organizations that are committed to social responsibility”.
Current:
- Partnered with American Forests to plant one tree with every order http://www.bizcard.com/plant_tree__v.hd

Message to the Community:
Bizcard has made a strong commitment to eco-friendliness and corporate social responsibility. We understand that historically, the printing industry has been
no friend to the natural earth. Although we go to great lengths to minimize this impact, we realize that we must use our share of resources just like everyone else.
However, as we grow, our positive impact grows as well. By building partnerships with reliable non-profit organizations, we are striving for nothing less than a complete reversal of our environmental impact. Through our online, grass roots effort, we hope to gain the attention of more like minded consumers, companies and organizations.
