We produce the largest sustainable lifestyle event in the Northwest. The Energy Trust Better Living Show is a festival that is not just targeted at the early adopters of a sustainable lifestyle, but one that targets the mainstream consumer as well who are looking for everything green. A show that encourages everyone, no matter where they lie in the spectrum of sustainable living, to take one more step towards a healthier lifestyle. And celebrates each and every one of those steps. Quite frankly…we want to help make a bigger choir!

It is important to us that we survey our own actions as we take each step in putting this unique sustainable lifestyle event together. It’s not just about managing resources, it’s about managing ourselves. We strive, in all cases, to be true to the principles of sustainability:

• We have a complete recycling/composting program for all ‘trash’ that would normally be thrown out.

• All flatware in our food areas are compostable.

• We encourage bike riding to the show or the use of lightrail. All of our business partners are local.

• Food and ingredients are produced locally, organic and are farm fresh.

• We do not carpet the aisles

• Show banners are made of recyclable materials and elephant dung.

• Show brochures are not sent out.

• Exhibit contracts are all done on-line.

• Telecommuting and working from home regularly.

• Carbon emissions will be offset by purchasing tags from the Bonneville Environmental Foundation.

• 15% of booth space will be donated to help conservation groups spread their message.
